About the job
The Project Management Engineer is a target-driven, and project professional, who will take responsibility to ensure the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish through clear communication to all internal and external stakeholders and ultimately deliver buses to customers in European markets in accordance with BYD standards.
He/She reports to Project Manager of Commercial Vehicle Operation Division.
We are looking for a candidate in Hungary.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities:
- Develop a trusted, collaborative partnership with the PDI workshops and customers;
- Work with PDI service provider and internal teams to complete PDI work on time to ensure buses are delivered to customers without penalty
- Support in coordination of all projects in the region and ensure crisp information flow to all internal stakeholders;
- Ensures all project documentation is accurate and uploaded into internal and external systems;
- Address questions/concerns throughout the project;
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
Daily tasks:
- Participate in early stages of project: kick-off, technical communication, design, material preparation and production, shipping;
- Take lead when buses are shipped from China: request for open issue list of each bus, coordinate with various departments for solutions before buses arrive, for example R&D, factory and purchasing, etc.,
- Before buses arrive in Europe, closely work with local PDI service provider to make modification arrangement and delivery plan to ensure issues are fixed prior to delivery to customers;
- Closely follow up shipping status and coordinate with logistics and PDI service provider to ensure buses are transported and arrive on time at PDI workshop;
- Work with PDI service provider onsite to make sure all open issues are fixed accordingly by coordinating internally with BYD team and externally with PDI service provider and customer;
- Participate in internal meetings, customer meetings, FAT and SAT throughout project;
- Manage acceptance report with customer on delivery of project;
- Organize, compile and handover supporting documentation on completion of project to aftersales
- Participate in post-project analysis and discussions.
Profile:
- 3-5 years of experience in project management in e-Bus market
- Strong and effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English and Chinese; Other languages are an advantage
- Proactive and collaborative approach to organizational problem solving
- Customer-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize and work proactively with efficient time management skills
- Resilient and open-minded, result-orientated
- Excellent English language skills (Other European languages would be a plus)
- EU drive license
- Education background: bus design, project management, vehicle engineering
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Ability to travel
- Car Driver’s license
Nice to have skills, qualifications and experience

- Demonstrated experience in working with an international team
