BYD France is the French National Sales Company of BYD BV Europe and BYD Company Ltd, a China-based company and a leading global supplier of green energy technologies. BYD France offers a range of electric vehicles, including all-electric cars, buses & forklifts. BYD is expanding its operations in France to support a growing portfolio of New Electric Vehicle Passenger car and LCVs projects.
As Product Specialist (Passenger Cars), your primary responsibility will be to support the product localization of our passenger car portfolio in the French market. You will work closely with the Product Localization Owner in France, along with product, homologation, and R&D teams in Europe and China, to facilitate the localization process. Reporting directly to the Product Localization Owner, you will be the interface between the European Product compliance department and Local Product department. You will also support the France NSC team with all kinds of local homologation activities and actively involve your colleagues in EU and China Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for business continuity from a Homologation point of view by ensuring entire product offer complies with legislation.
- Organization and execution of the necessary steps for car registrations.
- Independent handling of homologation projects.
- Preparation of official documentation and support in the approval process.
- Monitor end of series for derogation where appropriate.
- Remain up to date and provide advice at an expert level on relevant regulations.
- Support local projects and product specialists with matters relating to relevant regulations.
- Develop collaboration skills when working with European Product compliance department and Local Product department to ensure national requirements are met.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners and industry associations.
- Ensure that French product team has the necessary skills and resources to support local business expansions on French market.
- Support other local activities, such as compliance tests and local validation tests, at the early stage of (pre-) launches of new passenger car models in Europe. By doing so, you will help ensure that our products meet all relevant regulatory frameworks and business requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical / Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience and background knowledge of automobile engineering or related industry. Expérience on European automobile homologation & compliance would be highly appreciated.
- Experience in preparing and submitting homologation documentation, technical reports, and compliance materials.
- Oral/written fluency in French and English is mandatory; Proficiency in Chinese or other European languages is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all technical teams and disciplines.
- Disciplined, fact-based, and rational approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of BEV & PHEV technical paths, performance parameters, design, and their impact on UX.
- Valid driving license B or equivalent driving license for passenger cars.
