Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced EHS Engineer to join our team. As a professional EHS engineer, you will help create an EHS internal management system and supervise the implementation of all production departments. The compliance procedures of safety and environmental management require your participation and support. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing the environmental protection policies, guidelines, and laws and regulations in Turkey.
• Responsible for localizing BYD's environmental management systems in Turkey and promoting their implementation to ensure that wastewater, exhaust gas, noise, and solid waste emissions comply with both company and regulatory requirements.
• Provide business and technical support and guidance for wastewater, exhaust gas, noise, and solid waste emissions in BYD's Turkish factories, and supervise the correct implementation of environmental protection measures.
• Understand environmental management and technologies for wastewater, exhaust gas, noise, and solid waste treatment, assess their applicability, and promote the implementation of excellent management and technical methods.
• Regularly inspect the wastewater treatment at wastewater stations, provide solutions when abnormalities occur, and ensure the treatment capacity and quality of the wastewater stations.
• Participate in the emergency response and investigation of environmental incidents and accidents in the park; analyze the causes of accidents, propose preventive measures, and supervise their implementation.
• Coordinate with government environmental authorities for inspections, decompose and convey the environmental requirements proposed by the government, and supervise the execution of rectifications by various business units in the park.
• Responsible for preparing and organizing various environmental protection work documents.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• At least 5 years of experience in environmental management, including experience in safety and environmental management in manufacturing factories.
• Hold an environmental manager certificate.
• Familiar with Turkey's policies and regulations on exhaust gas, waste, wastewater, and noise management. Experience in establishing system is preferred.
• Able to communicate in English normally, with an English proficiency level of B2 or above.
• Experience working with overseas teams is preferred.
