Procurement Specialist

About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team. This position involves both resource development and procurement responsibilities, focusing on sourcing and acquiring the necessary materials and services to support our engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in procurement, with expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. Fluency in both English and Chinese is required to effectively communicate with international suppliers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Sourcing:
- Manage and oversee the procurement process from identifying suppliers to placing orders.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast and plan procurement needs.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative sources for materials and services.
- Resource Development:
- Develop and implement strategies for sourcing and acquiring materials that meet the company’s technical and quality standards.
- Work closely with the engineering and product teams to ensure resources align with project requirements and timelines.
- Evaluate and qualify new suppliers for long-term partnerships and strategic alliances.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent supply of quality materials and services.
- Resolve any issues related to supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, or vendor performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding procurement status, supplier performance, and market trends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
- Fluent in English; preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in both English and Chinese.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with international suppliers and global sourcing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement platforms.
- Ability to analyze procurement data and generate reports.
