About the role

BYD UK is seeking a proactive and experienced ER & Compliance Partner.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations (ER):

1. Provide guidance to managers on handling employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management).

2. Support workplace investigations, ensuring fair process and proper documentation.

3. Advise on conflict resolution, mediation, and employee engagement strategies.

4. Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the business.

Compliance & System Building:

1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of an ER & Compliance framework, including policies, processes, and reporting mechanisms.

2. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.

3. Partner with Legal and HR to update and implement compliance policies and procedures.

4. Support audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews.

5. Deliver training to managers and employees on compliance, ethics, and workplace conduct.

Collaboration & Projects:

1. Partner with HR Business Partners and line managers to build a positive and compliant workplace culture.

2. Contribute to policy design and process improvement.

3. Drive initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee well-being.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

2. Solid experience in HR/ER with exposure to compliance or legal frameworks.

3. Proven experience in building or setting up ER & Compliance systems/frameworks is highly desirable.

4. Knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices.

5. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

6. Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and integrity.

7. Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is a plus.
