About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

BYD Auto Hungary is looking for a versatile and dynamic Safety Engineer to our Auto Parts Division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the planning, evaluation, completion, and acceptance of new construction, modification, and expansion projects, as well as commissioning and trial production.

• Guide the identification and assessment of environmental factors and occupational health and safety hazards, and develop management measures. Supervise departments in implementing occupational health programs, including employee health monitoring, medical examinations, and other occupational disease prevention activities.

• Conduct on-site inspections of occupational health and safety, environmental protection, fire prevention, energy conservation, and confidentiality compliance.

• Prepare training materials, conduct training and education programs, and organize safety and environmental awareness activities according to the annual training plan and audit requirements; compile relevant information for group audits.

• Organize and participate in investigations and remediation of all types of safety incidents; maintain accurate statistics and reports of accidents.

• Complete other tasks assigned by management in a timely manner.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• Over 3 years of professional experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.

• Holder of a nationally registered safety engineer certificate.

• Familiar with Hungarian safety, environmental protection, and occupational health policies, laws, and regulations.

• Familiar with factory operations, product-related processes, and equipment principles, with demonstrated on-site improvement and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and coordination skills, service-oriented mindset, high sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure, and a conscientious work ethic.

• Proficient in English and Hungarian, able to read technical documentation; fluency in Chinese is preferred.
