Position: Technical Engineer

Location: Hoofddorp, Netherlands

About the role: The Product Management department plans the sustainable product and technology roadmap for Europe and works on developing advanced, full electric bus series which fulfill current and future European public transportation market needs. For this role, you will be responsible for provide the technical solutions for bus tenders.

Reports to: Product technology section manager.

Key responsibilities:

· Technical management of tender documents

· Evaluation of product technical solutions

· Product specifications management

· New technology and new product management

· Localization solutions

· Competitive Analysis

· New product development support

Main duties:

· Lead technical analysis of tender documents, extracting requirements, constraints, and acceptance criteria to form the basis of the bid.

· Develop and validate customized technical bid solutions that meet client requirements, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.

· Coordinate technical clarifications and negotiations with clients, translating their needs into concrete technical specifications and scope.

· Liaise with HQ R&D to confirm implementation approaches for new technologies, align on architecture, risks, and resource commitments.

· Produce technical bid deliverables (solution descriptions, drawings, technical datasheet, etc.) and maintain version control through submission.

· Assess technical risks and propose mitigation plans for tendered solutions, informing commercial decision-making.

Requirements & competencies:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineer.

· Minimum 1-2 years of work experience.

· Ability to work in a trans-global business environment in the design, development, production and evolution of high-tech products.

· Knowledge of 3D CAD software (NX preferably) and a good understanding of possibilities in modelling / simulation.

· Fluent in English & Chinese (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Germany or French is a plus.

· Very clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates strong judgment and problem-solving competencies;

· Excellent organization skills and able to work well in a team setting.

· You have a creative mind and strong analytical skills.
