(Sr.) Legal Counsel (EMEA Region)
Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive (Sr.) Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of the businesses in the EMEA region, with particular focus on Türkiye, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, North Africa, ME, etc. You will safeguard our business interests by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to the management about all relevant issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a variety of complex commercial contracts which may include auto finance agreements, fleet sale agreements, distributor or dealer agreements, supply contracts, after-sales service agreements, procurement agreements and other operational agreements etc.
Provide legal advice to business teams to ensure that legal issues are identified and resolved and that legal risk is managed appropriately.
Handle legal disputes, including coordination of litigation/arbitration procedures and collaboration with external lawyers.
Provide support on legal compliance matters.
Provide clear and practical advice and assistance regarding legal matters to BYD’s management concerning our business activities.
Summarize potential risks of current business activities and provide training to the business teams.
Liaise and cooperate with the internal legal teams.
Other relevant legal matters.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
Master of law degree from a reputable university.
5+ years of professional legal experience, either as an in-house counsel of international cooperation or international law firm. Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
Experience in legal practices for EMEA.
Experience in commercial contract matters, corporate law and legal compliance.
Good commercial/transactional negotiation skills, particularly in cross-cultural and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
Able to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions.
Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, precise and able to multi-task effectively.
Proactive, diligent, team player and also be able to work independently.
Excellent command of English language - both verbally and in writing. knowledge of any other European languages is a plus.
Able to support EMEA transaction legal issues.
ESG experience is a plus.
