About BYD Auto Hungary
On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial & Construction Contracts
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including procurement, sales, logistics, and service contracts.
Develop and periodically update standard contract templates to streamline business operations.
Provide legal oversight for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts and project management agreements related to factory development.Corporate Governance & Compliance
Manage local corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, filings, and subsidiary management. Establish and monitor compliance frameworks (Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, GDPR, and ESG) to mitigate organizational risk. Lead or support internal investigations and respond to regulatory inquiries or audits from local authorities.Factory Development & Operations
Advise on legal matters related tool and use, environmental permits, and construction law. Partner with the HR department on labor law issues, collective bargaining, and health and safety (EHS) regulations. Provide real-time legal counseling for daily operational challenges during the factory build-out.Dispute Resolution & Crisis Management
Manage and resolve litigation and non-litigation disputes involving suppliers, contractors, or third parties. Develop strategies for emergency response and crisis management to protect the company’s reputation and assets.External Counsel Management
Liaise with and manage external Hungarian law firms to ensure high-quality, cost-effective specialized advice.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
Education: Law Degree; qualified to practice law in Hungary (Bar admission is mandatory).
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably with in a multinational corporation or a top-tier law firm.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in Commercial Law, Compliance and Corporate Governance. Experience in the manufacturing is highly desirable.
Languages: Native/Bilingual in Hungarian; Professional working proficiency in English.
Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a solution-oriented mindset.
