About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contract Review & Management
Conduct initial legal reviews of various commercial contracts. Assist in maintaining and updating the company’s contract database and standard templates.

2. Legal Research & Project Management
Conduct in-depth research on Hungarian and EU laws to support specific business initiatives. Assist in managing specialized legal projects and supporting project deliverables.

3. Compliance System Construction
Support the development and refinement of the compliance framework for the EU Headquarters and the Szeged factory. Help monitor compliance risks and assist in the internal audit process to ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements.

4. Policy Localization & Implementation
Coordinate with the Shenzhen headquarters to adapt and implement global corporate policies and internal regulations.

5. General Operational Support
Provide daily legal support for factory operations and the Budapest office. Handle other ad hoc legal tasks assigned by the European HQ or the legal management team.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• Education: Law Degree; qualified to practice law in Hungary (Bar admission is mandatory).
  

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably with in a multinational corporation or a top-tier law firm.
  

• Technical Expertise: Strong background in Commercial Law, Compliance and Corporate Governance. Experience in the manufacturing is highly desirable.
  

• Languages: Native/Bilingual in Hungarian; Professional working proficiency in English.
  

• Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and a solution-oriented mindset.
