Role Summary
The Deployment Specialist is responsible for coordinating the execution, commissioning, and handover of EV fast charging sites across the assigned countries. The role ensures that approved Flash Charging sites are delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with local regulations, and in line with BYD quality and technical standards.
Embedded within the Flash Charging team and Sales team, the Deployment Specialist acts as the key contact for local deployment topics, coordinating internal teams, suppliers, contractors, authorities, grid operators, and service partners. The role also supports process improvement during the early stage of BYD Flash Charging’s European business development and provides technical input during site acquisition and feasibility reviews.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Deployment Execution, Reporting & Process Improvement
Support the delivery of assigned Flash Charging sites from deployment handover through construction, commissioning, and launch, while maintaining clear internal reporting and improving execution workflows.
Manage assigned site rollout activities against agreed milestones, including civil works, electrical works, grid connection, BESS installation, charger installation, testing, and commissioning.
Track site progress, risks, blockers, costs, and next steps in internal reporting tools, preparing regular updates for management and relevant stakeholders.
Identify recurring execution issues and support improvements to deployment processes, workflows, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with local regulations, safety requirements, and BYD quality standards.
2. Country-Level Contact & Local Process Support
Act as the main country-level contact person for deployment-related topics, ensuring smooth coordination between local departments, local stakeholders, and the regional Deployment Manager.
Serve as the key contact person for local deployment topics within the assigned country, coordinating with local departments on permitting, regulations, suppliers, authorities, utilities, site access, documentation, and execution requirements.
Ensure local deployment topics are clearly communicated, tracked, and followed up with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Translate local market requirements, regulatory conditions, and operational challenges into clear inputs for the regional Deployment Manager, escalating country-wide topics, strategic decisions, major risks, and cross-country process matters when required.
3. Initial Site Feasibility & Acquisition Support
Provide technical and execution input during the acquisition and pre-development phase for priority sites.
Review priority sites within agreed response times and provide clear technical feedback to internal teams.
Assess site feasibility from a deployment perspective, including layout, access, constructability, grid readiness, permitting complexity, deployment risks, cost implications, and rollout timing.
Participate in site visits and technical walkthroughs where required, helping ensure that sites entering the deployment pipeline are technically feasible and ready for efficient execution.
4. Supplier, Contractor, Cost & Field Execution Management
Develop and coordinate the supplier network required to deliver the rollout plan, maintain cost discipline, and ensure strong hands-on control of active deployment sites.
Identify, qualify, and coordinate suppliers and contractors for permitting, compliance, civil works, electrical works, grid connection, BESS installation, charger installation, testing, and commissioning.
Track deployment costs against approved site budgets, including supplier quotations, contractor costs, change requests, and additional works.
Travel regularly to construction and deployment sites to monitor progress, resolve issues, verify execution quality, and ensure contractors deliver in line with approved designs, permits, safety requirements, and BYD standards.
5. Compliance, Permitting, Grid Coordination & Documentation
Ensure deployment activities are compliant, properly documented, and coordinated with relevant authorities and grid stakeholders.
Coordinate with municipalities, utilities, grid operators, consultants, and contractors on permitting, inspections, grid connection, compliance approvals, and technical submissions.
Track the status of permits, grid applications, inspections, authority approvals, and outstanding actions to prevent deployment delays.
Maintain accurate records of approvals, inspection results, technical documents, compliance evidence, and site-specific requirements, escalating blockers when they threaten delivery timelines.
6. Commissioning, Service Handover & Rollout Stabilization
Ensure newly opened sites are properly commissioned, documented, handed over, and supported during early operation.
Coordinate commissioning activities with contractors, suppliers, technical teams, and service partners, verifying that commissioning records, test results, as-built documentation, compliance certificates, warranties, manuals, and site documentation are complete.
Prepare handover packages and ensure regional service partners receive the information required for early operation, troubleshooting, and launch stabilization.
Support resolution of technical or operational issues during the initial rollout phase and maintain continuity between deployment, commissioning, and service operations.

Familiarity with permitting, grid connection, civil/electrical works, charger and BESS installation, testing, commissioning, technical documentation, and rollout delivery; experience with budgets, supplier quotations, change requests, and cost tracking.
Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong documentation and reporting skills and the ability to work autonomously while resolving issues directly in the field.
