About the role

The Product Compliance (Homologation) Engineer will support Benelux and Türkiye product compliance activities, and ensure that BYD is operating in compliance with local regulations, applicable to relevant Turkish and European countries where BYD sells passenger cars. You will closely collaborate with the product manager and the local distributors to ensure all the products and procedures comply with local regulations. In addition, you will cooperate with the homologation, legislation teams, and certification partners. Providing guidance to design, product development, and testing teams at the product development and localization stage, ensuring our European passenger cars and relevant products comply with local and regional regulatory requirements of certification, launching and operation.

The Benelux and Türkiye product team aims to ensure that the BYD European passenger car portfolio is ready to exceed user expectations. Achieving our strategic goals while ensuring all legal framework and business requirements are met.

The Product Compliance Engineer will be a member of the Benelux and Türkiye Product Team and report directly to the Product Manager for the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Owner of the Product Specifications and technical information, track and manage all the information for the region.
• Investigate local regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with local regulations and policies.
• Track Turkish/EC/ECE regulatory (revisions) requirements and their applicability to vehicle/subsystem/component compliance.
• Facilitate the homologation and testing projects (e.g., WVTA testing, E-NCAP) according to Turkish/European legislation.
• Interface with certification and registration partners and approval authorities to deliver certification for required markets.
• Support local activities (e.g., product launch, delivery support, test-drive event) at the early stage for (pre-) launches of new passenger car models in Türkiye and Europe.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in automotive, Mechanical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or relevant engineering field.
• Passionate about NEV (New Energy Vehicles) and creating a sustainable future, and willing to learn and grow.
• For Product Compliance Engineer role, at least 5 years working experience with at least 3 years in automotive homologation/product compliance/R&D. For Senior Product Compliance Engineer role, at least 7 years working experience in the automotive homologation/product compliance/R&D is required.
• Driving license B or equivalent driving license of passenger cars.
