Head of Retail - UK Passenger Cars
About the role:
BYD, a global pioneer in new energy vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions, is strengthening its presence in the UK passenger car market. We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented professional to join our UK team as Head of Retail – UK Passenger Car.
This leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing retail sales strategies, guiding our UK sales team, and building strong partnerships with dealer networks. Reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director, the successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning sales operations with BYD’s long-term vision and business objectives.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to BYD’s rapid expansion in the UK while driving forward our mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop sales strategies and action plans.
- Lead the retail UK sales team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Steer the sales team and dealer partners to achieve the yearly and monthly targets.
- Create strong and effective stakeholder relationships across BYD and the dealer partners.
- Work closely with the marketing team to design and implement the organisation’s sales strategy.
- Work closely with the channel development team in terms of new dealers’ recruitment.
- Work closely with the sales management team in terms of dealers’ management.
- Any other reasonable duties assigned by management and line manager.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Proven experience and track record of success in the Automotive industry.
- The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, open to new ideas and ways of working, and able to take responsibility for achieving results and meeting performance expectations.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines and possess decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to establish productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong team collaboration and leadership abilities, with the capacity to drive teams towards common goals and effectively coordinate and communicate in cross-functional collaborations.
- Open to travel internationally as required to attend business meetings, training, and launch events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software, with the ability to conduct data analysis and report writing.
- Has right-to-work in the UK.
