Product Planning Specialist
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Product Planning Specialist to join our European Product Department. This role involves developing and executing product planning strategies for BYD’s new energy vehicles, conducting market analysis, refining target audience messaging, and leading go-to-market initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet customer expectations and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to understand the competitive landscape, pricing dynamics, and incentive policies within the European passenger car market. Identify trends and opportunities to enhance product positioning.
- Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) Development: Define and refine target customer segments, mapping out their journey, pain points, and expectations to create compelling messaging.
- Customer Insights & Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback through surveys, focus groups, and data analysis. Translate insights into structured product recommendations for the research team.
- Product Messaging & Positioning: Work closely with the product research team to translate technical features into customer-oriented messaging that highlights key benefits and differentiators.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, marketing, PR, sales, and network development teams to ensure a unified and effective product marketing strategy.
- Go-To-Market Strategy: Develop and execute product launch campaigns, ensuring effective communication of product value and benefits across multiple channels.
- Industry & Regulatory Trends: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to make data-driven marketing decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Automotive, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the automotive or mobility industry.
- Strong market research and data analysis skills with the ability to derive actionable insights.
- Experience in customer segmentation, positioning, and messaging development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strategic and analytical mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-national, cross-functional environment.
- Knowledge of the European automotive market and regulatory landscape is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
