About the department
The After Sales department within BYD Europe is responsible for all Service & Maintenance related topics concerning our full electric buses & trucks. This is including, but not limited to, building up a service network in whole Europe, providing technical support to our customers and Service Providers, supporting the sales department by calculating Life Cycle Costs, development of the Spare Parts business and providing training. The main objective of the After Sales department is to contribute to Customer Satisfaction & loyalty.
The Training Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering, and managing technical and operational training programs for BYD France’s aftersales network. The role ensures that all service partners, technicians, and front-line staff acquire the required skills, knowledge, and certifications to meet BYD’s service quality standards and support the brand’s rapid growth in France’s electric vehicle (EV) market.
This role also oversees the performance and coordination of external training partners and 3rd-party training providers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery aligned with BYD standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training Strategy & Delivery
• Plan, design, and deliver technical, operational, and system training modules for BYD’s service network.
• Localize and adapt global BYD training materials to the French market and language.
• Deliver classroom, virtual, and on-site training sessions for service technicians, advisors, and warranty staff.
• Coordinate national training calendars and sessions in alignment with BYD Europe’s training roadmap.
2. 3rd-Party Training Management
• Select, contract, and manage 3rd-party training organizations to support BYD’s aftersales training plan.
• Define the training scope, schedule, and KPIs for external training providers.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality, consistency, and performance of 3rd-party delivered sessions.
• Ensure BYD technical standards, brand image, and pedagogical methods are strictly respected by external trainers.
• Manage budget and cost control for outsourced training activities.
3. Content Development & Continuous Improvement
• Develop and maintain BYD-specific training materials, guides, and e-learning modules.
• Collaborate with BYD Europe and BYD China to align content updates and technical accuracy.
• Collect participant feedback and propose improvements to enhance training effectiveness.
4. Certification & Evaluation
• Manage technician and advisor certification programs and maintain records of completion and validity.
• Evaluate training outcomes based on KPI indicators (first-time fix rate, repair quality, NPS improvement, etc.).
• Report monthly training progress and results to BYD France Aftersales management and BYD Europe.
5. System & Process Training
• Conduct training on DMS (Dealer Management System), warranty claim handling, and job order procedures.
• Support onboarding and system training for new dealers and service partners.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Aftersales, Technical, Network, and HR teams to align training priorities with operational goals.
• Collaborate with the BYD Europe Aftersales Training Lead and global training teams for content sharing and alignment.
Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Education, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive training or aftersales technical education (EV experience a plus).
• Proven experience managing or coordinating 3rd-party training providers.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and workshop processes.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in French and English (Mandarin is a plus).
• Familiarity with e-learning tools and LMS platforms.
• Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
