Learning Content Development Specialist-Passenger Cars

Reports to: Content team lead / Head of Training
Role purpose
Design, develop, and continuously improve high-impact learning content that enables BYD sales forces, dealer partners, and internal teams to deliver an excellent product and customer experience. You will translate product, technology, and brand strategy into engaging, accurate, and scalable training—across classroom, digital, and blended formats.
Key Responsibilities
1) Learning content & course development (core ownership)
· Develop and maintain core courses across Product & Technology and Brand, Sales & Customer Experience.
· Build learning journeys and modular curricula (onboarding, certification paths, product launches, refreshers).
· Define learning objectives, structure, teaching methods, assessments, and success criteria for each module.
· Create and maintain training materials: slide decks, participant booklets, job aids, quick reference guides, and knowledge checks.
2) Visual storytelling & training visualization
· Convert complex product/technical information into clear, compelling learning stories and visuals (feature-to-benefit narratives, customer scenarios, competitive comparisons).
· Create storyboards and content scripts to ensure consistent flow and learner engagement.
· Maintain a consistent look & feel aligned with brand and corporate identity standards.
3) Trainer enablement (facilitator-ready assets)
· Produce Trainer Guides / Facilitator Notes including timing, delivery instructions, activities, FAQs, and handling of difficult questions.
· Prepare session runbooks, checklists, and set-up guidance (room, vehicles, props, digital tools).
· Ensure materials are practical for trainers and scalable across markets and languages.
4) Train-the-Trainer (TtT) & event support
· Support TtT preparation and delivery (trainer kits, rehearsal support, content walkthroughs, post-session improvements).
· Participate in international training events and product launch learning activities (online and offline).
· Capture trainer/market feedback and translate it into rapid content improvements.
5) Cross-functional collaboration & content accuracy
· Collaborate with R&D, Product, Marketing, Sales, After Sales, and other stakeholders to keep course content up-to-date and factually correct.
· Integrate Product Management and Marketing insights into training modules that reflect BYD positioning and commercial priorities.
· Manage content versioning, approvals, and timely updates aligned with product iterations and market changes.
6) Data-driven improvements & audience tailoring
· Segment audiences (sales advisors, managers, dealer principals, partners, etc.) and tailor learning based on role needs and maturity.
· Use market research, customer feedback, and sales data to identify learning gaps and prioritize content updates.
· Proactively identify opportunities to optimize learning effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have)
· Proven experience building learning content (corporate training, L&D, or enablement).
· Solid understanding of instructional design fundamentals (learning objectives, structure, engagement, and assessment).
· Ability to create visual training narratives (storyboards, scenarios, clear information hierarchy).
· Experience producing trainer-facing assets: facilitator guides, session plans, and delivery instructions.
· Comfortable supporting Train-the-Trainer activities and live training events.
· Basic video editing skills (trim/cut, captions, simple overlays, audio cleanup) for training micro-videos.
· Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
· Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken); ability to simplify complex topics.
· Entrepreneurial, flexible mindset; able to adapt quickly to fast-changing products and priorities.
Preferred / Advantage (Nice-to-have)
· Automotive technical foundation (advantage): EV/Hybrid basics, ADAS, charging, safety systems, connectivity—enough to translate technical inputs into accurate training.
· Experience in automotive retail training, dealer networks, or OEM/importer environments.
· Experience with LMS deployment, SCORM basics, and e-learning operations.
· Additional EU language(s) and multicultural working experience.
Tools & Working Methods (Typical)
· Visual creation: Advanced PowerPoint; Figma/Canva/Adobe tools (mid-adv)
· Video: Camtasia / Premiere (or similar) basic
· Authorizing tools Articulate or similar will be preferable
· Collaboration & project flow: MS Office/Teams, SharePoint/Drive; version control discipline
What success looks like (first 6–12 months)
· Core courses are structured, updated, and consistently deployed across markets.
· Trainers receive “facilitator-ready” kits that improve delivery quality and consistency.
· TtT support results in faster trainer readiness before launches.
· Content update cycles become faster, clearer, and more reliable through stakeholder alignment and version control.
· Learner feedback and business data visibly improve training relevance and effectiveness.
