Role Summary

The Site Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying, securing and progressing suitable sites for the deployment of BYD’s Flash Charging network within the assigned country or cluster.

The role owns the end-to-end local site acquisition process and acts as the primary local interface with landowners, site hosts, municipalities, utilities as well as CPO partners, ensuring that sites are viable, scalable, and aligned with BYD’s long-term network strategy.

The role works in close coordination with the Legal & Commercial team, which provides contractual frameworks, negotiation support and commercial governance. A solid understanding of EV charging infrastructure requirements is essential, particularly to avoid site selections or agreements that constrain construction, operations, or future upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Identification & Pipeline Development

· Identify and proactively source suitable sites for Flash Charging deployment. Build and maintain a robust local site pipeline aligned with network rollout priorities and CPO partnership strategies.

· Conduct initial site screening covering access, footprint, grid proximity, permitting complexity, and long-term scalability.

· Coordinate early feasibility checks with Deployment, Energy, Product, and CPO technical teams to eliminate non-viable sites early.

2. Cooperation with CPOs & Strategic Partners

· Act as the local operational interface with Charging Point Operators (CPOs) for site acquisition activities.

· Work closely with regional account management and partnership teams to translate framework agreements with CPOs into concrete, executable sites.

· Ensure that CPO-related site acquisitions comply with BYD technical, commercial, and long-term network requirements.

3. Local Stakeholder Management

· Build trusted relationships to facilitate negotiations, permitting, and long-term cooperation.

· Represent BYD’s network vision and long-term commitment to partners and authorities, including in joint BYD–CPO deployments.

· Support smooth transition from acquisition to deployment without contractual or operational blockers.

4. Commercial Coordination & Deal Progression

· Lead local commercial discussions within predefined pricing and commercial guardrails, including those involving CPOs.

· Prepare site-specific proposals, summaries, and internal approval packages. Ensure all commercial terms remain aligned with approved frameworks before contract finalization.

5. Permitting & Pre-Deployment Readiness

· Coordinate permitting processes and local approvals in collaboration with authorities, consultants, and CPO partners where applicable.

· Ensure sites are contractually and practically ready for handover to the Deployment team.

· Act as the local owner of site readiness until Notice-to-Proceed.

Requirements

· 5+ years of experience in site acquisition, real estate development, infrastructure in the EV charging space

· Working experience in the EV charging space is a MUST, better if at a major Charge Point Operator (CPO)

· Proven experience working with landowners, municipalities, utilities, and/or CPOs

· Strong understanding of permitting processes and local regulatory environments

· Comfortable working with standardized contract frameworks and escalation

· Ability to operate autonomously while coordinating within a matrix organization

· Fluency in English and local language(s)

· Willingness to travel within the assigned country or cluster
