Warranty Claim Specialist
About the Job
The Warranty Claim Specialist (Passenger Cars) within the OEM after-sales organization is responsible for verifying complex, high-value, and outlier warranty claims to ensure full compliance with current warranty guidelines and regulations. In this role, you will evaluate edge cases, make transparent claim assessments, and collaborate directly with national markets to identify training gaps and upskill retail networks.
Tasks & Key Responsibilities
Claim Assessment: Evaluate complex, high-value, and abnormal/outlier warranty claims against official OEM policies and repair standards.
Fair & Transparent Decision Making: Approve valid claims, and reduce or reject non-compliant submissions while providing clear, structured explanations in the system.
Market Enablement & Retailer Support: Analyze claim data to identify recurring errors and outliers; partner with regional market managers to support, guide, and train retail networks on claim compliance.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Engage with technical departments, field engineers, and market contacts via internal communication platforms to clarify technical details.
Audit & Master Data Support: Process chargebacks resulting from audit findings and execute necessary master data corrections within the warranty system.
Reporting & Market Performance: Participate in regular market result presentations and share insights on claim trends, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation.
Requirements & Profile
Education & Technical Background: Educational background as an Automotive Mechanic, Diagnostic Technician, Service Advisor, or a degree in Automotive Engineering.
Workshop Experience: Minimum 3+ years of direct experience within an authorized dealership or workshop environment.
System & Process Knowledge:Strong understanding of workshop workflows, repair diagnostic procedures, and warranty/goodwill processes. Proficiency in OEM applications (e.g., WIS/TiS, TIPS, EPC and DMS systems) preferred.
Language Skills: Fluent written and verbal communication in English (including technical automotive English). Proficiency in additional European languages (e.g., German) is a plus.
Key Soft Skills:Strong analytical skills with an eye for identifying data anomalies and outliers.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to interact constructively with markets and retailers.Proactive mindset, resilience under pressure, and a focus on continuous process optimization.
