About BYD Auto Hungary
On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.
We are looking for an HR professional with strong expertise in labour relations who can ensure smooth employee–employer interactions and compliance in a dynamic international environment. If you have hands-on experience in handling employee relations matters, a solid understanding of the Hungarian Labour Code, and strong communication skills, we welcome you to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
All-process compliance management
Responsible for the full cycle of HR compliance (contract, attendance, remuneration, social security, tax returns), ensuring compliance with the Hungarian Labour Code and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Lead internal compliance audits and make requirements for employee manuals and personnel policy updates.
Government affairs interface
Leads on-site audits at the Bureau of Labor and Immigration;
Establish an audit response plan to ensure that no serious violations are recorded.
Employee Relations and Care
Establish a communication mechanism for local employees in Hungary to handle complaints, labour disputes and disciplinary investigations.
Design Employee Care Plan (EAP), lead satisfaction surveys and develop improvement plans.
Trade union cooperation and industrial coordination
Coordinates Hungarian trade unions and work councils and leads collective bargaining, agreement signing and labour consultation meetings.
Prevent and resolve collective disputes and maintain a stable production environment.
Optimize retention programs to enhance local employees' sense of belonging.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in labor law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of payroll accounting experience in Hungary
- Experience handling payroll for blue-collar employees and shift-based workforce
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Experience working with external payroll providers is an advantage
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Hungarian payroll, tax, and social security regulations
- Expertise in shift scheduling and solid knowledge in labor code
- Experience with payroll systems and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Nexon or similar)
- Strong Excel skills
- Understanding of cost accounting and payroll cost allocation
Skills & Competencies
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Good communication and cooperation skills
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Languages
- Fluent Hungarian required
- English proficiency required
- Chinese language skills are an advantage but not mandatory
