About BYD Auto Hungary
On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.
BYD Auto Hungary is looking for a versatile and dynamic Non-standard Design Engineer to our Auto Parts Division.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the preliminary design of non-standard equipment and tooling/fixtures, including preparation of implementation budgets and technical specifications; organize and coordinate comprehensive project reviews with the customer to ensure all requirements are fully met.
Responsible for the detailed design of non-standard equipment, production lines, and tooling/fixtures; produce 3D and 2D technical documentation and drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and lists of purchased components; provide supplier and sourcing information to ensure incoming material quality and delivery schedules are met.
Lead and coordinate effective communication with electrical engineers regarding functional requirements and control concepts for non-standard equipment and production lines, and continuously optimize project solutions.
Coordinate the manufacturing, assembly, and installation of drawings for non-standard equipment, production lines, and tooling/fixtures; manage project design schedules and provide technical support to ensure efficient project completion.
Be responsible for the acceptance and handover of non-standard equipment, production lines, and tooling/fixtures; prepare and deliver acceptance documentation including operating manuals, assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and related technical standards, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Process Equipment, or related fields; minimum 3 years of relevant work experience; fluent in English and Hungarian; fluency in Chinese is a strong advantage.
Familiar with production-site equipment structures and operating principles, with the ability to improve mechanical and electrical performance of equipment.
Solid understanding of mechanical transmission systems, electrical circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics, including their operating principles and working environments; familiar with safety production requirements and possessing a strong safety awareness.
Strong communication skills, clear logical thinking, strong execution capability, and a high sense of responsibility.
