About BYD Auto Hungary

On 22 December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary, which will be built in phases. The new production base is planned to adopt globally advanced process equipment and highly automated production processes to create a world-leading new energy vehicle manufacturing base.

BYD Auto Hungary is looking for a Section Chief to our Vehicle Production Division in Szeged.

Key Responsibilities:

• Section leadership & production delivery:
  Lead the workshop/section team end-to-end, ensure policy compliance, and deliver assigned production targets.
  

• Operational management & problem solving:
  Chair daily/weekly operational meetings (production, quality review, evaluations), identify management and process issues, propose solutions, and drive implementation.
  

• Process & performance improvement:
  Improve management methods, productivity, quality performance,and cost efficiency (labor allocation, utilities optimization, strict material control, cost reduction).
  

• Quality, discipline & 5S management: Drive quality KPIs, ensure timely escalation and corrective actions with relevant departments; manage 5S and on-site

  standards to maintain a clean and organized workplace and proper material handling.
  

• Safety & capability building:
  Ensure occupational safety, fire protection and confidentiality compliance; deliver and verify safety/tooling/equipment operation training; ensure correct equipment usage and daily tool maintenance; motivate and develop the team and coordinate section leaders.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• Technical secondary education completed or relevant higher education.
  

• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment (automotive is an advantage).
  

• Knowledge of automotive final assembly and manufacturing processes; strong production management capability.
  

• English language skills:
  Confident use of spoken and written English for daily coordination, meetings, and reporting.
  

• Strong organization & responsibility:
  Independent, accountable working style; user-level computer skills (MS Office/production systems).
