Customs Compliance Specialist will be responsible for customs compliance in Hungary, consistent with the management of the BYD China headquarters, and participate in the compliance management of customs, import and export business in other parts of Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth progress of customs business, identify tax exemption/customs cost policies and programs;

• Represent BYD in handling customs affairs and defense affairs with local and EU customs authorities, associations and professional organizations;

• Ensure the formulation and implementation of company internal customs management, processes, and regulatory company policies, and the execution of customs audits (including external audits);

• Manage other customs-related matters and overall customs compliance affairs, including communicating with external consulting companies, identifying potential customs risks, planning overall customs processes, and handling internal and external reports.

• Participate in, assist and lead the promotion and completion of various customs qualification certification projects.(e.g. AEO license)
  

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:

• Bachelor degree or above;

• 5 years or more of experience in EU customs compliance management, 10 years or more of experience in customs affairs; those with Hungarian customs expert certificates or those who have served as customs officers are preferred;

• Ability to use English as the main working language; Hungarian native speakers are preferred; candidates with a proficiency in Chinese will be given preference.

• Have a deep understanding of EU customs law and related regulatory conditions, have a deep understanding of Hungarian customs supervision operations, and have presided over AEO certification or AEO annual internal audit and other customs-related certifications.

• Experience in customs management for manufacturing/automotive manufacturing or providing consulting services to manufacturing/automotive manufacturing clients for more than 3 years. Have participated in group-wide tax planning and led the planning of import and export tariffs.

• Experience in leading customs audits and defenses.
